Mykola Tomenko: The Verkhovna Rada drew a Line under the Discussion of Ukraine´s Accession to the Customs Union
Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that adoption of the Resolution "On Recommendations of the Parliamentary Hearings "On State and Prospects of Development of Economic Relations between Ukraine and the EU (Free Trade Zone) and the Customs Union" drew a line under the discussion of Ukraine´s accession to the Customs Union.
"It is essential that the Parliament unanimously endorsed this Law, because the candidates running for President of the Russian Federation seem to be more and more concerned with the problems of Ukraine instead of economic issues and protection of rights and freedoms in Russia," M.Tomenko admitted.
The Deputy Chairman stressed that adoption of the Resolution stopped the discussion of Ukraine´s accession to the Customs Union, as the supreme legislative body has fixed the principles of cooperation: "To continue formation of a free trade zone between Ukraine and the EU, and conclusion and further implementation of a new Agreement on a free trade zone within CIS on the principles and conditions of the World Trade Organization with strict observance of the national interests of Ukraine."
