Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, addressed the Head of the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information and the Head of the National Council of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting with a request to investigate the situation with "Antena-Plus" television and radio broadcasting company in Cherkasy.
The Deputy Chairman informed that on May 18, 2011 "Volia-Kabel" provider stopped broadcasting TV Channel "Antena-Plus" in the cable network of Cherkasy. Administration of the cable provider stated that this channel would be broadcast in the digital TV package. M.Tomenko stressed that the number of audience of "Antena-Plus" TV Channel, which currently counts 36 thousand subscribers, will fall by ten times. Moreover, unilateral digitization of cablecasting of this company violates the requirements of the broadcasting license issued by the National Council.
