Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, calls for raising pensions and salaries in the public sector since autumn, 2011.
V. Lytvyn stated that positive tendencies in economy call for "adopting decisions, accumulating funds and increasing pensions and salaries in the public sector." "Otherwise, the attempts to implement reforms will fail, causing complications in the social-economic and even political situation", believes V. Lytvyn.
The Head of the Parliament deems necessary to revise the social welfare system.
"We shall revise all social privileges and payments. It should be a conscious and responsible decision", declared V. Lytvyn.
