In the interview for Channel 5 on Wednesday, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, commented on the results of the recent opinion polls, whereby the ratings of the acting authorities have considerably fallen, while public support of the opposition remained stable. Mykola Tomenko believes that it is fair in view of the total or partial incongruity between the President´s declarations and the actual situation and actions of the central and local authorities. He believes that the President can change the situation only with the help of a forced resignation of the Government and dismissal of most heads of regional administrations.
According to the Deputy Chairman, the biggest mistake of the opposition is the infighting between the oppositional factions. Mykola Tomenko stressed that being against the acting authorities, the opposition should develop a strategy of common actions, suggesting its own alternative of the state development.
