The People´s Deputies set up an Interim Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate Signing of the Gas Agreements between "Naftohaz Ukrainy" National Joint Stock Company and "Gazprom" Open Joint Stock Company as to the Signs of High Treason in the Sphere of Economic Security of Ukraine which has the following tasks: to investigate accumulation of debt of "United Energy Systems of Ukraine" industrial and financial corporation to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation in the total of USD 198 million, and to "Gazprom" Open Joint Stock Company in the total of USD 84 million, and provision of state guarantees of its repayment; to investigate the circumstances of negotiations, approval of conditions and signing of the natural gas sale-and-purchase contract for the years 2009-2019, and the contract on the volume and terms of transit of natural gas through the territory of Ukraine between "Naftohaz Ukrainy" NJSC and "Gazprom" OJSC of January 19, 2009 as to the signs of high treason in the actions of the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yu.V.Tymoshenko.
People´s Deputy Inna Bohoslovska (Faction of the Party of Regions) was elected Head of the Interim Inquiry Panel, and People´s Deputy Yurii Lytvyn (Faction of the People´s Party) was elected Deputy Head of the Interim Inquiry Panel.
The Interim Inquiry Panel will be working for one year since the date of adoption of the resolution, while the report of the Interim Inquiry Panel shall be presented at the plenary meeting of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in three months since the date of adoption of the resolution.
