Mykola Tomenko: Changes of Administrative-Territorial Division of Ukraine have actually started
Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that "creeping underhand destruction of Ukrainian village" is taking place in Ukraine. He made this statement after the Conciliative Council on Monday, dwelling upon the general situation in the country and the plans of the opposition for the coming plenary week.
"An illegal creeping change of administrative-territorial division has started in Ukraine," stressed M.Tomenko. He reminded that Ukraine is being divided into ‘hospital districts´ (nearly ten districts for one region). However, the Deputy Chairman stated that formation of such hospital districts is not enhancement of the healthcare system, but actual destruction of rural medicine.
"I have a question: what are the grounds for such administrative-territorial reform in Ukraine? Who authorized the officials to divide the regions into 9-10 districts?" asked the Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Therefore, according to the Deputy Chairman, when the opposition had offered the idea of a referendum, it meant not only the moratorium on land sale, but also the situation in the agricultural sector and public support of the administrative-territorial reform.
