The bill (Reg. No. 8117) amends the
Customs Tariff of Ukraine to fix zero-rates of incentive and full rates of
import duty on buckwheat (commodity heading 1008 10 00 00 of the Ukrainian
Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity) instead of the applicable
20-per-cent tariff duty.
The Committee Chairman believes that adoption of the bill will regulate the situation in the domestic market connected with the deficit of buckwheat, stabilizing the prince and demand for it.
However, the Committee members rejected the legislative initiative concerning lifting of VAT from the operations on buckwheat supply and import.
