The bill (Reg. No. 7487) sets the fundamentals of corruption counteraction in public and private spheres of social relations; regulates reimbursement of losses or damage inflicted by corruptive infringements, restoration of violated rights, freedoms or interests of individuals, rights or interests of legal entities, and interests of the state. The bill amends the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine, the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements, the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the Law "On Civil Service."
The bill submitted by the President of Ukraine has been scrutinized during the sitting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption twice. Its fundamental principles have been scrutinized by the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).
The Committee together with the Central Judicial Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has thoroughly scrutinized 432 proposals submitted to the bill, and decided to recommend the parliament to adopt the bill in the second reading and entirety.
The Central Judicial Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate expressed several remarks regarding the bill. The specialists of the Department are convinced that the bill can be adopted in the second reading, provided all the remarks are taken into consideration.
