Committee Deputy Chairman Mykhailo Myronenko, Chairpersons of the
Sub-Committees Yurii Moroko,
Pavlo Liebediev, Artem Synytsia, and People´s Deputy Viktor Bondarenko
attended the meeting.
Committee Deputy Chairman Mykhailo Myronenko informed the guests about the structure of the Committee, and its law-making covering transport, communications and mail service.
M. Myronenko stated that a great attention is being devoted to the construction of infrastructure, while law-making of the Committee is aimed at the legislative support of all the branches of transport sector and communications. It concerns especially the legislative initiatives of the Cabinet of Ministers regarding building of facilities for EURO-2012. "Maintenance of roads and other facilities requisite for the successful holding of EURO-2012 in line with the UEFA requirements is a serious challenge for everybody," stressed M. Myronenko.
The Committee Deputy Chairman laid emphasis on the productive work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with the Cabinet of Ministers. He also called for using the capacities and possibilities to develop Ukraine as a transit state.
M. Myronenko stated that economic links had been developing since the establishment of inter-state relations. He believes that a direct flight between Kyiv and Seoul would facilitate fruitful cooperation.
Chairman of Korean National Assembly´s Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Committee Song Kwang-ho commented on the great potential of Ukraine for the successful economic development. He stated that Ukrainian railway and underground are especially attractive for cooperation.
Song Kwang-ho stated that Korean companies are interested in the development of high-speed railway and supply of underground trains. The Committee Chairman also declared that Ukraine can rely on the Korean experience, preparing for EURO-2012.
Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Telecommunications and Mail Service Yurii Moroko commented on the achievements of Korea as a highly-developed global state. He believes that the Ukrainians are ready to learn from the Koreans how to become one of the most successful economies in the world.
M. Myronenko summed up that Ukraine and Korea have no irresolvable issues. The Verkhovna Rada is ready to ratify the agreements requisite for the development of mutually beneficial bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea.
