The bill (Reg. No.7322), submitted by People´s Deputies M. Tomenko, Yu. Prokopchuk and V. Moisyk,
authorizes public inspectors in charge
of environmental protection to draw up protocols for various types of
infringements upon the environmental laws.
The authors recommend amending the Code in view of the increasing number of infringements upon the environmental legislation. For the last 20 years, the number of game animals has reduced by 30-70%. Annually, state agencies in charge of environmental protection detain 9,5 thousand of hunting offenders, 96,6 thousand of fishing offenders, and 18 thousand of Forestry Code offenders.
Adoption of the bill will not duplicate the functions of the state bodies, and does not require extra financial expenditures.
The Committee members support the bill, as its adoption will strengthen law order in the sphere of environmental protection and rational use of mineral resources.
