Ukraine should work in all the Spheres of its Interest, including the Commonwealth of Independent States, - V.Lytvyn
Ukraine should work in all the spheres of its interest, including the Commonwealth of Independent States. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement during his working visit to Zhytomyr region, asked about the effectiveness of Ukraine´s work in the CIS.
V.Lytvyn stated that the current situation is not normal, as Ukraine is one of the CIS constituent states, but not its member. He deems necessary "to pass a clear-cut and logical resolution." V.Lytvyn stated, "He sustained great losses, as Ukraine could play a key role in the post-Soviet area, balance the processes, and ensure effective work of this establishment."
However, V.Lytvyn found an explanation for this situation, "It used to be a rather nominal approach, as the CIS was regarded as a civilized form of separation of former Soviet republics. Later life has proved that economy, people, and historical memory oppose this approach." "We should work in all spheres of our interest, including the CIS, otherwise the resolutions will be made not for our good," he stressed.
V.Lytvyn believes that Ukraine´s participation in the CIS should be active, assuming that Ukrainian products will be in demand "on the unassuming post-Soviet market." "Still, social and moral traumas should not be aggravated," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada admitted.
"If we are advocates of a strong state, we should aim at the strategic goal and follow the reasonable tactics," V.Lytvyn emphasized.
