The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends The Verkhovna Rada to adopt the Bill on Amendments to Clauses 68 and 69-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (re Penalty for the Inchoate Crime)

The bill (Reg.
No.6219) supplements clauses 68 and 69-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with new parts, whereby the rules of criminal penalty imposition stated in the second and third parts of clause 68
and clause 69-1
are not applied to the persons who committed the crime
entailing a life imprisonment by the sanction of a clause (sanction of a part
of a clause) of the Special Part of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Exception is the rule that a penalty in the form of a life imprisonment
in compliance with part two of clause
64 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine can not be imposed on the following persons: individuals who committed the crime as minors,
individuals over 65
years of age, women
pregnant in the moment of committing the crime or in the moment of sentence announcement.
The Committee members support the bill, as its adoption will specify the imposition of penalty,
enhancing the legal practice.
