Mykola Tomenko greeted the Personnel of the National Scientific Medical Library of Ukraine with the 80th Anniversary of the Library
Today, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took part in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the National Scientific Medical Library of Ukraine.
Mykola Tomenko greeted the participants. He emphasised that the National Scientific Medical Library of Ukraine is a special organisational-methodological center of medical libraries network, the only specialized establishment in charge of the library and data management of medical personne that prepares and publishes medical and biological scientific and bibliographical guides. He stressed that as a scientific-data center, the library worked with the scientists, therapists, students, specialists of other fields and industries working for the development of the public health in Ukraine.
The Deputy Chairman hopes that modern libraries are the centers of social and elucidative work. He suggested organizing a thematic exhibition and discussions of the healthy lifestyle, using the international experience in Ukraine to improve the life standards, informing about the legislative acts on public health. Mykola Tomenko presented a collection of articles dedicated to the anti-alcoholic campaign published in Chernivsti in 1910. "We should use not only foreign but also national experience of fighting bad habits", he stressed.
