A Coming Political Season will be rather Complicated, - Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, presumes
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine presumes that "a coming political season will be rather complicated and eventful." He made this statement at the briefing after the Conciliative Council, admitting that "journalists will have plenty of work."
V.Lytvyn stated that on the eve of the first plenary sitting of the next session, he addressed the leaders of political leaders and faction heads with a request to observe the Standing Orders of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, an internal law of the parliament. "It is of utter importance to preserve parliamentarism and launch a constructive dialogue, as we all can fight, but not listen," the Head of the Parliament stated. He admitted that political forces might organize different events such as rallies or pickets near the Parliament. He has already been formed about alleged actions planned by the opposition.
"However, everything should be legitimate, without confrontations in the session hall. The Verkhovna Rada has to work," V.Lytvyn stated.
The Head of the Parliament understands "the demands of the opposition formulated in several bills." He is willing to put their proposal on scrutiny of these bills to the vote at the beginning of the plenary meeting on Tuesday. "If the proposal is supported, the scrutiny will start, otherwise, the bills will be considered on Wednesday, the government officials being invited to the meeting," V.Lytvyn stated.
The Head of the Parliament stressed that The Verkhovna Rada shall work, not serve the rallies.
