Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declared today to the journalist of UNIAN that YTB faction has received the information that in certain regions of Ukraine future candidates for the mayor offices try to gain favour of the voters with the help of the food sets.
According to the Deputy Chairman, it is obvious today that the new law regarding the mixed system of the local elections really is in action. "There is information in many regions on mass supply of food sets on the part of the future candidates to the offices of the mayor and deputies in major regions that have decided to gain sympathy of their voters with the held of buckwheat, sugar and other useful products", he informed. M. Tomenko indicated that the tendency when the "political buckwheat givers" commence their ‘campaign´ is dangerous. Though, he added that they are supposed to learn the example of the election conduction in Kyiv, as "Kyiv buckwheat givers" are now either in exile or on the leave, and those ‘eating buckwheat´ received total collapse of the public utility services, health protection and other spheres of capital´s life.
M. Tomenko is convinced that is voters do not make certain conclusions from he results of elections in Kyiv, the fashion on gaining o favour with the help of food sets would become a compulsory part of the elections on 31 of October.
