The Committee´s work was aimed at the improvement of the state policy in the sphere of the citizens´ employment, labour relations, activity of the social funds and development of the social dialogue.
As it was announced in the Secretariate of the Committee, the special attention was paid to the preliminary scrutiny and preparation of the conclusions and propositions to the bills, generalization of remark and propositions received to the bills under scrutiny.
Four bills and one resolution were adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine after the Committee´s decree.
The Committee members paid special attention to the execution of the supervising functions. The People´s Deputies continued he cooperation with the Court of Auditors of Ukraine. In the course of the work of the sixth session the Committee scrutinized during its sittings three issues, prepared after the information of the Court of Auditors.
The recommendations of the parliamentary hearings instituted by the Social Policy and Labour Committee are under its special control. Thus, on 7 July, the Committee repeatedly scrutinized the issue on the implementation state of the parliamentary hearings: "On Implementation in Ukraine of the European Social Charter (Revised)"
In the course of the Committee sittings the issues on execution of own resolutions were scrutinized.
The practice of the Committee´s work was the compulsory formation of the working groups not only for the bill drafting for the second reading but also for the elaboration of the recommendations on control matters, seminars, "round tables" etc.
The Committee members accepted citizens in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Committee scrutinized and respondeed to 1605 letters and citizen´s inquiries.
