Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,and Slavica Đukić Dejanović, President of the Narodna Skupština of Serbia (National Assembly of Serbia) on Monday signed the Treaty on Interparliamentary Cooperation between the Legislative Bodies of Ukraine and Serbia.

 

Pursuant to the text of the document, the Verkhovna Rada and Narodna Skupština, in particular would be developing the interparliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Serbia, facilitate the further development of the relations between two nations in the political, social-economic, cultural and other spheres that are of mutual political interest.

 

The Parties will conduct the consultations, will render mutual support and assistance in the course of the scrutiny of the issues of common interests in the international organization and Interparliamentary Union.

 

The Parties would conduct a constant information exchange regarding their activities, official documents and periodicals would provide free access to the informational funds and Parliamentary base except those cases that undergo special internal-legal regulation.

 

The Parties would facilitate the strengthening of the connections between the Committees and Commissions, deputies groups, would exchange parliamentary delegation for the investigation of the practice of elaboration and adoption of the legislative acts and experiences of the parliamentary activity.

 

The Parties would uphold the legislative initiatives of the executive bodies, aimed at the improvement of the implemented legal norms in the sphere of the interstate cooperation.
