In the course of the Committee sitting it was declared that the bills (Reg. No5286 and Reg. No5286-1) envisages the prohibition on the use in Ukraine and import on its customs territory of genetically modified organisms (GMO) and production, received with the use of GMO. As exclusion GMO products are not prohibited for the export and also import of GMO on the customs territory of Ukraine for the scientific-research purposes or state probations.
The Committee members pointed out the attention to the fact of non-harmonization of these bills with the principal in the sphere Laws "On State System of Biosecurity in the process of the Formation, Probation, Transportation and use of GMO", and also with the international agreements, ratified by the Parliament.
Moreover, taking into the consideration a wide reaction on this issue and necessity of the broad discussion, the Committee resolved to conduct hearings on the indicated matter and form the working group for their preparation.
