On Friday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Pavel Gantar, President of the National Assembly of Slovenia, in the framework of the European Conference of the Presidents of Parliaments.
Mr Lytvyn commented upon "the high level of political dialogue" between the respective states. He declared that Ukraine and Slovenia have all the prerequisites to extend the bilateral relations, especially in the economic and humanitarian sectors, supporting mutual assistance on the international arena.
The President of the National Assembly of Slovenia highly appreciated the potential of development of bilateral cooperation. He called for boosting inter-state relations in all aspects.
The Parties also called for extending the parliamentary constituent of the Ukrainian-Slovenian relations.
Mr Gantar called for further development of cooperation on the level of both parliamentary groups of friendship, and international parliamentary forums. Mr Lytvyn agreed with this opinion, stressing "the great potential" of the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the committees.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine suggested an idea of commissioning the parliamentary groups of friendship to develop a cooperation extension plan. Mr Gantar supported this idea, suggesting development of the inter-parliamentary dialogue on the level of committees and leaders of the legislative bodies.
The Parties exchanged the invitations to make official visits to the respective countries.
