Giving comments regarding the of 252 Deputies inquiries to the Constitutional court with the appeal to verify the amendments to the Constitution from 2004 on harmonization with the Principal Law, Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, emphasised that for the implementation of the project "Constitution for the President" the Party of Regions introduced emergence variant. "If the amendments to the Constitution without the Parliament of referendum can be regarded as anti-constitutional, then variant through the decision of the Constitutional Court looks moderate, though anti-constitutional way", he declared.
M. Tomenko mentioned that "If one can assume that such decision is adopted, then the present personnel of the Constitutional Court shall become the leader according to the most absurd judgment that has been ever resolved by the Constitutional Courts." For the present moment, according to the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the most absurd decision was made but personnel of the Constitutional Court that recognized two terms of L. Kuchma as the one, thus 5 years of Ukrainian people´s life was liquidated.
M. Tomenko deems it political misunderstanding that among 252 Deputies that have directed inquiries to the Constitutional Court, at least one half voted happily and persistently for the present revision of the Constitution."
