The bill (Reg. No.6272) defines the status of the Ukrainian National Memory Institute as a central executive authority body, the activity of which is determined and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers by consent of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The bill also determines the structure, tasks and authorities of this body.
Pursuant to the bill, the main tasks of the Institute are as follows: formation and implementation of the governmental policy in the field of restoration and preservation of national memory of the Ukrainian nation, its historical conscience and culture; provision of comprehensive study of centuries-old history of Ukrainian Statehood, stages of fighting for the restoration of Ukrainian statehood in ХХ century; study of residence of other indigenous peoples and national minorities in the territory of Ukraine, and their integration into the Ukrainian society.
The representatives of the Ukrainian National Memory Institute who attended the meeting also called for adopting the bill.
