After the initiative of Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Wednesday in the Parliament was held the Parliamentary hearings: "Implementation Problems of the Norms of the Law on the restriction of Consuming and Sale of Beer, Alcohol, Low-Alcohol beverages and Tobacco Goods."
Speaking on the first months of the Law of Ukraine No1824-VI that restricts consuming and sale of beer, alcohol, low-alcohol beverages and tobacco goods that came into force in February, M. Tomenko declared that they showed that the threat of teenage drinking in Ukraine is much bigger then they used to think. "Ukrainian society still have not appreciated the treat of teenage drinking, - it can be an explanation for the fact that despite all the work done, adoption of the law, the police still fix the cases of alcohol beverages drinking on children squares, parks, sport zones and other public places even by the minors", M. Tomenko declared starting the work of the "round table."
According to the data presented by the Ministry on Internal Affairs, M. Tomenko noticed that for the period immense number of infringements was detected in the educational establishments round the country. M. Tomenko briefed that according to the information, submitted by Ministry on Internal Affairs for the last two months, more then 13 thousand infringements were detected regarding the consuming and sale of beer and low-alcohol drinks, among them 2969 at the children squares and 3113 at the sport yards.
In the course of the "round table" the detailed analysis of the first two months of the law efficiency was conducted, the participants heard the representatives of the law enforcement agencies and representatives of Law regarding the restrictions of consuming and sale of beer, alcohol, low-alcohol beverages and tobacco goods.
