The Committee scrutinized the bill
on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine on taxation (Reg. No.
4576). The bill amends the laws "On Taxation of Income of Enterprises", "On
Value Added Tax", "On Land Fee", and "On Land Lease."
By the subject of legal regulation, the bill refers to the field of competence standards and taxes, which is regulated by the Council Directive 2006/112/EU on the common system of VAT. The Committee members stated that the bill complies with this international act, EU legislation and Ukraine´s commitments within the WTO framework.
The Committee also scrutinized the bill on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine regarding notification about the content of genetically modified organisms (Reg. No.6251). Pursuant to the bill, the content or the absence of genetically modified organisms in the foodstuffs shall be notified by the label, provided the share of genetically modified organisms exceeds 0,9% of the total weight of the product in a unit of package.
By the subject of legal regulation, the bill refers to the field of public health and life of humans, flora and fauna, and protection of consumer rights, which is regulated by the standing orders of the European Parliament and the Council 1829/2003 on genetically modified food and feed and 1830/2003 concerning the traceability and labelling of genetically modified organisms and the traceability of food and feed products produced from genetically modified organisms.
