Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems untimely to introduce the Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine at the Present Moment.

Asked in the program "Pro Holovne" (First national Television Channel), V. Lytvyn answered that: "if now we are involved into the next amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, believe me, the state will be paralysed, the formal-public discussions will be initiated and it will work like a divertive instrument."

V. Lytvyn also expressed the thought that the formation in the Parliament of the constitutional majority may have negative impact on the quality of the laws adopted.

According to the Chairman of the Parliament, he is not a follower of the formation of the constitutional majority. V. Lytvyn explained that "if there is no big numerical superiority, the laws, suggested by the Government and President undergo through investigation." "If there are more than 300 votes, we will have the principle "Let´s go!" and no one will be interested in scrutinizing what we are going to adopt, thus there would appear such decisions that would have no favor for people."
