Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that Adoption of the Social-Economic Development Program, State Budget, Program on the Activity of the Government and Law on Foreign and Internal Policy Principles will make the Situation in Ukraine Stable

 

"These are fundamental documents, adoption of which will stabilize the situation, and make Ukraine predictable to the citizens and the world", V.Lytvyn stated in Friday´s interview to Rada television channel.

 

V.Lytvyn suggested the following development of events: the Parliament adopts the social and economic action plan for the current year, the Law on the State Budget and listens to the address of the President of Ukraine to The Verkhovna Rada.   

 

"The Cabinet of Ministers Action Plan should be brought forward before Parliament, and then the principles of the domestic and foreign policy will be considered", he stated.

 

The Head of the Parliament also deems necessary to adopt the Taxation Code, setting up a working group and "drafting a balanced bill".

 

As to the State Budget, V.Lytvyn reminded that the Government made a commitment to draft this document by 10-11 April. "I am convinced that this deadline will be observed; at present it is necessary to reduce the budget deficit, predict the inflation rate and unblock the cooperation with the international financial organizations, which is possible is an agreement with the IMF is reached", he stated.

 

The Head of the Parliament stressed that the scrutiny of the budget should be preceded by the consideration of the socio-economic action plan, which would be brought before Parliament in the nearest time. V.Lytvyn believes that these documents shall be scrutinized "in package". He also predicted that the law on budget would be adopted in May.
