The meeting was held on the request of the American Party. The Committee Chairman has greeted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary on the occasion of the appointing on the office and highly appreciated the relations between two countries.The Parties discussed a number of issues regarding Ukrainian-American cooperation. The Committee Chairman commented on dynamic relations between Ukraine and the United States of America, and stated willingness of Ukrainian Party to the active cooperation at the parliamentary level.
John Tefft emphasized the importance of the interparliamentary contacts and readiness of the American part for the cooperation. He stated the readiness to facilitate the development of the bilateral relations between USA and Ukraine.
In the course of the meeting, the Committee Chairman informed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary on the principal direction of the foreign political activity of Ukraine. The Committee Chairman called for further extension of economic, scientific, scientific and technical, political relations of two countries, cooperation at the high inter-parliamentary level. The special attention was paid to the building of the effective mechanisms of the regional and global security. He also informed of the political situation in the country.
