Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that Formation of an Ideological Parliamentary Coalition with a Systemic Action Plan is Impossible
M.Tomenko appeared in "Rankovy Ispyt" program (Era FM Radio), where he commented upon the possible form of the coalition and terms of its formation. M.Tomenko stated that "only pragmatic coalition of single use" can be considered.
According to M.Tomenko, this term covers the association of deputy factions and parties or deputies set up to settle their personnel issues. "Full consent in such a coalition will obviously be observed during the voting for the formation of Government and other key appointments; however, during the scrutiny of bills, this coalition will not act systemically", - he stated.
According to the Deputy Chairman, "when the crucial humanitarian issues will be considered, some deputies of "Our Ukraine" will not support them; however, 226 votes will be provided by the Communist Faction. At the same time, voting for the economic matters will be secured by the Party of Regions, the Lytvyn Bloc, "Our Ukraine", etc".
M.Tomenko stressed that he doubted the fact that the present-day composition of the Parliament would work for the whole period of authorities till the year 2012.
