During the year 2009 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received more than 101,5 thousand propositions, appeals and complaints of the citizens from all the regions of Ukraine that is in 18.9 thousand (23%) more than in the year 2008.
For the reporting period more than 2750 citizens appealed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate, among them more than 2192 to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn.
The Parliamentary Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Specialized Committee on Privatization Matters scrutinized 22,8 thousand of propositions, appeals and complaints of the citizens that in 5 thousand more than during last year. The Deputies Factions in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine elaborated more than 9 thousand propositions, appeals and complaints of the citizens.
The Structural Subdivisions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate scrutinized nearly 70 thousand propositions, appeals and complaints.
The personal reception in the Parliament in the course of the last year visited 7,4 thousand people hat is in 2,7 thousand more (58%) than in the year 2008.
In a reception room of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the reporting period the personnel of the Citizens´ Applications Office accepted 4759 visitors.
In the topical structure of the appeals for the year 2009 prevailed the issues on law enforcements and order protection, realization of rights and liberties of the citizens (35,6%), social protection (15,1%), finance, taxation and customs policy (10,6%), dwelling policy (5,0%), the activity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (4,6%), public utility service (4,1%), labour and wages (3,4%), agrarian policy and land relations (3,1%).
