Mykola Tomenko: The Most Undisciplined Session is to be altered by the More Efficient One

 

 Today in the course of the briefing in the Parliament, Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine summarize work undertaken by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation during the fifth session. In particular he made public the information on the participation by the People´s Deputy of Ukraine the sittings of the Verkhovna Rada.

 

"Unfortunately, the situation with the People´s Deputies attendance on the course of the fifth session worsens. The quantity of absentee increased, the probable cause of this was the election campaign."

 

"14 People´s Deputies have not attended the Parliament at whole and took part in none of the plenary meetings. That is they missed 51 sitting", - M. Tomenko emphasized.

 

The Deputy Chairman also informed that 46 People´s Deputies without any sound reasons attended none of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine committees sittings, where thy are members. He reminded that according to the Labour Code, the principal working place of a People´s Deputy is not a plenary meeting but a committee.

 

"Besides, we have a sad story with the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine activity. We have he Committees that hold 17 meetings and there are committees, like on transport and connection matters that held only 1 meeting", - M. Tomenko stressed.

 

At the same time, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed hope that after the election campaign the parliamentary work would become more efficient and the quantity of absentees will be reduced. "I hope that the most undisciplined session will be altered by the more efficient one", - he declared.
