Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine briefed that there would be no Meeting of the Parliament on Wednesday
Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine confirmed information that there would be no parliamentary sitting on Wednesday, 24 February. It was declared for the informational agency "Interfax-Ukraina."
V. Lytvyn emphasized that "The Verkhovna Rada is supposed to demonstrate the stability and predictability but not represent motivated system of scenarios implementation in favor of this or that political power." According to him, there are number of circumstances that prove the fact "this initiative is a part of certain actions plan, dedicated to the ceremony of the President of Ukraine inauguration and it was not properly elaborated."
V. Lytvyn declared that Yulia Tymoshenko Faction failed to introduce the Resolution draft on ministerial responsibility though it was suggested to be included into the agenda for the extraordinary sitting of the Parliament on Wednesday.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc representatives alluded to the previously registered by the Party of Regions Resolution draft, but this document was returned to the faction "for its proper execution for the conduction of the extraordinary parliamentary meeting." Thus Volodymyr Lytvyn emphasized that there are no elaborated and properly executed documents for the conduction of the extraordinary parliamentary sitting.
The Head of the Parliament also announced that pursuant to the Parliamentary Rules, YTB faction was supposed to represent 150 signatures pf the People´s Deputies on convocation of the extraordinary sitting of the Parliament and on the Resolution draft on vote of nonconfidence to the Government. According to his words, he received an appeal of YTB Deputy, Vitalii Barvynenko on the fact that he had not signed the documents for the conduction of the extraordinary session. "Thus YTB possesses 149 instead of 150 necessary signatures and there are no elaborated and properly executed documents for the conduction of the extraordinary parliamentary sitting", - V. Lytvyn emphasized.
