In the course of the Committee sitting it was declared that the Bill (Reg. No.3190), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, aims at enhancement of effective legislation of Ukraine in the field of protection of cultural heritage. It coordinates terminology of certain legislative acts with the Law "On the Protection of Cultural Heritage". In particular, it should increase responsibility for non-fulfillment of its requirements, specify competence of the public authority bodies in charge of protection of cultural heritage, and establish regulations concerning protection of historical and cultural monuments, and activity of the historical and cultural reserves.
Moreover, the Bill enhances legal principles of activity of historic-cultural reserves, enhances their protection and responsibility for its violation.
Relevant propositions were directed to the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement for the elaboration to the second reading.
