«Healthy lifestyle shall become an ideology of the modern Ukraine", - M. Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared in the course of the interview for «Life&Sport Magazine».
M. Tomenko briefed that for many years, except his political activity, the Deputy Chairman conducts social projects that are connected neither with the party nor parliamentary aims. "I have always been of opinion that education, health protection sphere, culture, physical training and sport development are supposed to be the priorities of the public development. Sort is one of the small amount of factors that today unite our country and form its positive image abroad", - he announced.
At the same time, M. Tomenko is convinced that within the state level, the situation with the sport activities is rather complicated. "The matter is that Ukraine unfortunately is considerably backward in comparison with other countries. It can be explained by many factors, among which, the financial one is the first. There should exists a special fund, financed from the alcohol drinks, tobacco goods sell, etc", - he declared.
Mykola Tomenko emphasized the necessity of the formation of the relevant sport infrastructure in regions. "It is necessary to construct port equipment in every yard; in schools sport complex should be built, it is necessary to establish all the facilities not only for the sportsmen but for the compulsory physical development of people." M. Tomenko explained that in the framework of the action "It is Smart to be Healthy and Fit", held by "Fair Country" Fund, they managed to established sport equipment in compulsory and nursery schools in Cherkasy, Simferopol, Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions.
