The Bill (Reg. No.5231) amends certain clauses of the Code of Ukraine on
Administrative Infringements, supplementing the envisaged sanctions with such a
type of administrative penalty as public works.
According to the People´s Deputies, introduction of amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements is topical, as sanctions for certain types of infringements fail either to correct the infringer or to prevent new infringements due to the low rates of penalties.
The Committee members stressed that public works fulfill not only educational, but also law restorative function, obliging the infringer to reimburse damage inflicted to public interests.
