On the polling day, district election commissions are authorized to amend the lists of voters on the grounds of citizens´ appeals. It shall be effected due to the resolutions of the election commissions, as well as court decisions. Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the above-mentioned statement in the exclusive interview to the Russian periodical "Russkiy Zhurnal".
"The initial lists of voters have been compiled according not to the data of the Internal Affairs Ministry, but to the State Register of Voters, a statistical database without proper updating and adjustment. Therefore, the lists of voters shall be updated", - the politician stated.
O.Lavrynovych expressed his opinion as to the possibility of holding the election campaign in accordance with the adopted Law on the Presidential Elections, taking into account the fact that the Constitutional Court had recognized a number of provisions as unconstitutional ones. O.Lavrynovych stated: "The presidential campaign is being held in compliance with the earlier adopted Law on Elections, the five provisions recognized as unconstitutional ones being not considered".
O.Lavrynovych commented upon the conditions of the Ukrainian judicial system. Thus, he stressed: "The judicial system is morbid. The system of administrative courts is no exception. Hence, I am not convinced that the court resolution will fully comply with the laws".
However, the First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine believes that "the judges who will scrutinize relevant cases will comprehend the meticulous attention to the cases related to the recognition or non-recognition of voting results at certain polling stations or in the entire country".
