After the Presidential Elections, the Electoral Code of Ukraine shall be adopted, the Constitutional Majority being authorized to amend it, - V.Lytvyn.
The parties have discussed the steps made by Ukraine in the sphere of obligations implementation before the European Council and perspectives of the transference to post monitoring dialogue with European Council.
In particular the issue on the adoption of the Electoral Code of Ukraine was discussed. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that Electoral Code "is supposed to be adopted immediately after the elections." For the document be implemented "stable and according to the European standards" V. Lytvyn deems "it is necessary to state that amendments to it can be introduced by 300 deputies." Such norm is essential, "in order not to introduce amendments due to the political moments." "What is the most important concerning the adoption of this Law if that is supposed to correspond commonly accepted standards", - the Chairman fo the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared.
Adoption of such Code is also important to be implemented to the elections to the local councils that should be held on 30 May 2010. Local elections, according to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during which there would be " not less fierce fighting" theb during the presidential one, "as it would be revenge for the lost elections of the President of Ukraine." V. Lytvyn also added that there is nothing bad in contests; the most important fact is that they should be fair.
The Leader of the Parliament informed Renata Volvend that the working group had been formed in the Parliament to elaborate the Electoral Code.
