Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, deems Inadmissible for the Politicians to speculate on the Language Issue during the Presidential Campaigns
"The language issue arises during every election. As a rule, this matter is discussed by the politicians who fail to know any language, and immediately forget about this problem after the elections", - V.Lytvyn stated in the town of Balaklava.
The Head of the Parliament believes that Ukraine´s bilingualism is historical, "since both Ukrainians, and Russians, as well as representatives of other nationalities reside in our State". He deems necessary to implement the Laws regulating the relations in the language sphere. V.Lytvyn reminded of the fact that "Russian language is a language of international communication". "The rights and opportunities shall be realized with account for the national, cultural and language public demands". It is necessary to implement the Laws concerning records management, judicial practice, public health first of all", - V.Lytvyn stated. He also deems important "to respect people´s choice, especially their willingness to talk their native language".
