Volodymyr Lytvyn declares that he shall not preside over the Plenary Meetings of the Parliament

 

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declares that he will take leave for the plenary weeks of The Verkhovna Rada, not presiding over the Parliament´s meetings.   

 

He stated that he had signed a decree, pursuant to which he would be on leave on Tuesday-Friday, the First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada conducting plenary meetings. "The decree is signed and forwarded to all the persons concerned, - V.Lytvyn stated. The Head of the Parliament is also surprised that "opponents blame you in the abuse of the parliamentary lectern when you preside over the meetings, and blame you in the opposite if you do not". 

 

V.Lytvyn stated that he would come and conduct the plenary meeting if such matters as responsibility of the Government were scrutinized.
