Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: It is necessary to pursue a Reasonable and Considered State Policy regarding Knowledge-Based Enterprises of Ukraine

 

On Monday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visited "Artem" State joint stock holding company and met its personnel.  

 

According to V.Lytvyn, the work of the enterprise testifies that "engineering thought is rapidly developing, the possibilities are ample and the efforts of personnel are self-sacrificing". "Such intellect-governed knowledge-based enterprises shall be supported by the State to remain a Ukraine´s heritage", - he stressed.

 

The Head of the Parliament stated that the military-industrial complex of the former USSR united 3,5 thousand enterprises employing 3 million people. He believes that the State shall create welcoming conditions for relations with the CIS member-States, especially with the Russian Federation.

 

As far as the defense sector was concerned, V.Lytvyn stated: "As to the status of the Armed Forces and defense, it is on the verge of final destruction of the defense office".

 

The Head of the Parliament believes that political confrontation is one of the reasons. The second problem concerns appointment of the leaders in this sector. The third problem appertains to the funding of the defense sector.

 

V.Lytvyn stressed: "Defence capability of the country can be secured, and the export capacities can be extended, which is confirmed by the enterprise we visited".

 

"Therefore, it is necessary to pursue reasonable and considered policy in this branch", - he stated.

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also visited the Technical Information Centre of the Popular Museum situated at the territory of the enterprise.
