During
the sitting it was stressed that "involvement of considerable business
potential through the corporative social responsibility mechanism facilitates achievement
of the national objectives of development
decrease of the poverty rate, formation of permanent employment, increase of effective energy consumption,
fighting against corruption etc."
According to the hearings participants, the issues on social responsibility of business have recently been endowed with considerable importance for the further development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine. The majority of the European Union member-States believe that the social responsibility of business is not only an important component of economic development strategy of enterprises, but also a mechanism of social-economic problems settlement in the society.
It was also stressed that social responsibility tendencies in Ukraine had been promoted in Ukraine with the assistance of such powerful organizations as the UNO.
At
the same time, the participants of the committee hearings declared that Ukraine
lacked a specialized set
of normative and legal
acts aimed at the development of social liability.
According to the speakers, the State shall consolidate the efforts of public figures, scientists, entrepreneurs, public and international organizations aimed at the comprehensive solution of methodological, strategic and tactical problems of national system of social responsibility formation.
The participants of the hearings deem necessary to set up an Advisory Council to elaborate the National Concept of Social Responsibility of Business Development in Ukraine under the Committee on Industrial and Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship.
The
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine shall take
measures to enhance the
social responsibility in Ukraine aiming at the stimulation of socially responsible behavior of
business entities. It
was also recommended to
envisage financing of the program on the
increase of the social responsibility in Ukraine while drafting the Bill "On the State
Budget of Ukraine 2010".
