During her working visit to Warsaw, the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk met with the Marshal of the Senate of Poland, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska.
The Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament stressed that Poland's leadership in Europe and its presidency in the Council of the European Union is very important for Ukraine and our European integration.
“We greatly appreciate all the efforts of Poland to advocate for the approximation of our membership in the EU and acceleration of accession procedures. Despite the fact that Hungary has now blocked the opening of the first negotiation clusters,” said Olena Kondratyuk.
In turn, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska assured that Poland would continue to support Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO. It is also important for Europe to take part in peace negotiations and to increase its own arms production more actively.
The Polish Senate Marshal expressed her belief that Europe must be strong. She stressed that Europe will be stronger only together with Ukraine, the only country in the EU that knows what war is and how to fight and defend itself against aggression.
