The Agreement is aimed at the effective cooperation of the authorized bodies of both countries regarding mutual legal assistance in civil cases, determination of the mechanism of mutual recognition and implementation of court decisions and formation of the legal grounds for cooperation of the authorized bodies of both countries in the prevention and investigation of crimes.
The Agreement sets the guarantees for individuals and legal entities of both Parties as to the equal legal protection, receipt of free legal assistance, equal use of benefits concerning exemption from legal costs, etc.
The Prosecution General and the Ministry of Justice shall be the central bodies to receive the requests concerning legal assistance.
The Agreement also determines the grounds for denying legal assistance.
