During the sitting of the Committee it was declared that the Bill (Reg.№5263) envisages the amendments to the Law "On Elections of the President of Ukraine", Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine and Code of Administrative Legal Proceedings regarding the election process. In particular, the Bill states that the citizens of Ukraine that due to the legal reasons are above the state borders of Ukraine are allotted with the right to participate in the voting. That is the norm is annulled according to which the obligatory condition is consular registration as a premise for the right to vote.
Moreover, it suggests the right allotment according to which Ukrainian citizens are allowed to become a member of the regional or district electoral committee irrespective of the fact whether they live on the territory of corresponding regional or district electoral committee.
The People´s Deputies scrutinized identical bills (Reg.№5263-1, 5263-2) regarding the elections of the President of Ukraine.
As a result of a discussion, the Committee has adopted the decision to recommend the Parliament adopt the Bill 5263 as a basis and while elaborating it for the second reading take into the consideration certain principles of the bills 5263-1, 5263-2.
