"There is nothing to comment, it is necessary to implement the said Law. People can not survive receiving scanty wages and pensions", - stated V.Lytvyn on Tuesday, commenting upon the Law on the Increase of the Living Wage and Minimum Wage adopted by the Parliament.

It is also necessary "to work over the budget, taking into account the alteration of the welfare standards living wage and minimum wage".

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regretted that the Parliament failed to endorse his proposal concerning prevention of violation of rights for labour and remuneration of labour under the recessionary conditions.

"I am frustrated and indignant over the failure of The Verkhovna Rada to adopt one more document appertaining to the social security, i.e. guarantee of every individual´s right for labour and remuneration of labour", - he stated.

Adoption of the document was blocked "by the deputy factions in service of Ukrainian oligarchs". "The biggest owners in Ukraine are not willing to fulfill the commitments made in the period of privatization", - stated V.Lytvyn, stressing that "big business shall be socially responsible".
