Election process in Ukraine will not be disrupted; however, it will be hard to achieve a compromise looking for a common standpoint concerning amendments to the law on presidential elections. Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the above-mentioned statement in the program at Channel 5.

"There is a full-fledged effective Law on the Presidential Elections, on the grounds of which we will have a newly-elected Head of State next year. As far as the possible amendments to this Law are concerned, I expect that a Bill or several Bills will be brought before Parliament and scrutinized during the next plenary week", - stated the politician.

He admitted that "achievement of a compromise between the different factions will be problematic, as the amendments that had been introduced earlier were produced by the political opponents to secure transparent and fair elections".

"We talked over the common resolution concerning introduction of amendments. It is necessary to take into account the remarks of the Constitutional Court and recommendations of the Council of Europe. The discussions are heated, but the results are negative", - stated V.Lavrynovych.
