To the Lawyers of Ukraine
Please accept my sincere greetings on the occasion of the occupational holiday the Lawyers Day.
This holiday confirms the extreme importance and responsibility of the social status of people, whose occupation became one of the most needed in the Ukrainian State in the period of its formation and development. Celebration of the Lawyers Day calls for the public honour and acknowledgement of such basic, fundamental concepts of life, as legality and law, justice and truth.
The present-day situation confirms the validity of the postulational statement concerning consolidating role of the law in the modern State building. No field of activity can develop beyond the legal framework. It is natural, as the concepts of the State and the law are inalienable, mutually dependent and mutually related.
At present, our lawyers avail of the broader opportunities for implementing their innovation professional ideas and introducing well-grounded proposals concerning legislative support of our common home the State of Ukraine in all the branches of the law: constitutional, administrative, procedural, labour, criminal, family, international, etc. It is necessary to hold a substantial active public discussion of the issues concerning supremacy of law, drafts of the Constitution of Ukraine, state of the judicial reform, settlement of the issues in the activity of the prosecution bodies and further development of the democratic institutes.
I am convinced that great expectations reclined upon the lawyers by the public and the State will be successfully realized by the deeds aimed at the consolidation of lawfulness, law order and justice.
On this memorable day, I wish you all the best and courage in the service to the Law.
