The Committee recognized the Bill on Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine regarding Improvement of Monitoring of the Financial Operations performed by the Officials authorized to fulfill the State Functions (Reg. No. 4204) as such that complies with the European legislation.
The Bill introduces amendments to the laws "On Banks and Banking Activity", "On Prevention of and Fighting with Illegally Obtained Income Legalization (Laundering)", "On the Status of Judges", "On the Status of a People´s Deputy of Ukraine", "On Elections of the President of Ukraine" and "On Elections of the People´s Deputies of Ukraine".
Thus, the Bill authorizes special departments in charge of fighting organized crime and corruption under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine to prohibit (suspend) bank clearing transactions in the accounts of persons suspected in corruptive actions for three days, a relevant court resolution being available.
The Committee members also scrutinized the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Drinking Water and Drinking Water Supply" (Reg. No. 4671). The Bill enhances legal and economic principles of activity in the field of drinking water supply and drainage, creating legislative prerequisites for the efficient operation of the water supply and drainage systems.
The Committee members stressed that the Bill complied with the EU directives concerning the governmental policy in the field of drinking water and drinking water supply.
