Mykola Tomenko: The President´s Decree on the National Discussion of the Draft Constitution should be considered as an Active Start of the Presidential Campaign
Today, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stays with a working visit in Chernivtsi region.
Within the scope of the visit, Mykola Tomenko jointly with Ivan Shylepnytsky, Head of the Chernivtsi Municipal Council, met the educators of Bukovyna region and presented every school with a CD "Classical Ukrainian Literature. Live Voices" and a book "Ukrainian Romanticist Mykola Hohol".
Presenting the CDs and the book, M.Tomenko stated that both public authority and local self-government bodies and public organizations that promoted Ukrainian language, history and culture should implement the projects for mass distribution.
At the press conference, the Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that the President´s Decree "On the National Discussion of the Bill "On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine" marked the start of active participation of Viktor Yushchenko in the presidential election campaign.
"If the Decree presupposed an expert discussion of a new version of the Constitution, it would not be promulgated in the period of the presidential election campaign", - stated M.Tomenko.
He believes that discussion of the Fundamental Law during the presidential election campaign will not bear expert consequences and will become an element of a political discussion.
