Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced in the Necessity of the adoption of the Law on the Status of Sevastopol city before long.
"The named bill of law had been elaborated long ago and is waiting scrutiny in the session hall. I several times appealed to the People´s Deputies in order to adopt the document as a basis, form the working group that I am ready to head, in the process of the elaboration for the second reading scrutinize all the possible amendments work out the coordinated proposition", - V. Lytvyn announced on Friday in Sevastopol city.
V.Lytvyn emphasized that the adoption of this law demands the Constitution. According to his words, this legal act would allow Sevastopol "use its peculiarity and uniqueness". He also stressed that it is now "exactly the moment when the law should be adopted", "as before the elections politicians appeal to people speaking that one should trust in people".
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noticed that after the elections of the President the new Leader of the State would be eager to nominate on the position of the Sevastopol mayor his representative that according to V. Lytvyn "would not disapprove the expectations of the person who adopted him on its place and would think about people´s wealth least of all". "The power should be formed by people. Somebody afraid that the people would make a mistake and would vote for "the not correct one" but I am convinced that people never are mistaken and would vote for the person that would face their expectations", - V. Lytvyn declared.
