Mykola Tomenko: Wages of the People´s Deputies should depend on their Activity, and the Last Names of the Deputies-Absentees should be announced
On Tuesday, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stayed with a working visit in Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky.
M.Tomenko stated that under the conditions of certain organizational, financial and information assistance, the national historico-ethnographic reserve "Pereyaslav" "could become one of the most popular routes of the weekend excursions", as it includes not only the skansen, but also unique historic buildings and museums connected with the life and creative work of H.Skovoroda, T.Shevchenko, B. Khmelnytsky, V.Zabolotny.
He believes that the Ministry of Culture should support such national reserves. "The opening of routes for weekend excursions will attract attention to the monuments of history and culture with minimum expenditures, render a possibility for the museums to earn funds and be self-sufficient´, - he stated.
Within the scope of the visit, M.Tomenko visited H.Skovoroda and V.Zabolotny memorial museums, took part in the opening of the exhibition "Triumph of Artistic Idea" that presents original written materials and objects about the history of the building of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Speaking with the representatives of the local self-government, the Vice-Chairman suggested organizing more informative excursions for the pupils. Thus, the pupils should be taken to the session hall and the materials concerning modern Ukrainian history, history of Ukraine´s independence, history of the Parliament´s building should be demonstrated to them.
As far as the organization of Deputies´ work is concerned, the Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine announced his intention to submit the Bill, pursuant to which, the wages of the People´s Deputies should depend on their activity, presence at the plenary and committee´s meetings. He also deems necessary to announce the last names of the deputies-absentees.
M.Tomenko presented the schools of Pereyaslav with the CDs with the works of Ukrainian classical writers: P.Tychyna, M.Rylsky, P.Bazhan, M.Honchar, V.Stus and others.
