In the framework of the visit the Vice Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has visited the National reserve-island "Khortyzia", where together with the journalists will take part in "Sichova Toloka" and will present the action "Let us renew Zaporizhska Sich", the aim of which is assistance in finishing of the building of the historical-cultural complex "Zaporizhska Sich" on the territory of "Khortyzia" reserve and open it on the 14th of October 2009 (Day of Ukrainian Cossacks).
During the opening of "Sichova Toloka" M. Tomenko announced that he is pleased with the opening of the campaign on money collection for the building of complex "Zaporizhska Sich" as two main tasks of this campaign are solved.
First of all, the final stage of the Reserve building works is renewed. Secondly-, according to M. Tomenko, the society, young people in particular take active part in this action. He announced that until the 7th of July 250 thousand UAH were collected and more then 2000 messages and 500 calls were received on the support of the campaign.
Initiator of the action "Let us renew Zaporizhska Sich" has also informed that today´s "Sichova Toloka" is also an instrument on the work intensification.
"I am convinced that such approach when the public organization accepted the responsibility for the uncompleted building, would appear to be successful and on the 14th of October, complex would be opened", - Vice-Speaker announced.

History of the project:
In year 2001 "Zaporizhcivilproekt" commenced the development of the new project documentation of the "Sich" building. And on the 14th of October 2004 the solemn stone-laying ceremony took place. The first finance support at the rate 5 mln UAH was allotted by Yu. Tymoshenko government in year 2005. Lion's share of the financing was taken by Zaporizhia metallurgical establishment "Zaporizhstal".
For the present moment the building is at its final stage. The total area of the complex is 3 hectare.
